Jim Yates started with New Foundations
Nonviolence Center in April 2009 and is the Chairman of the Board
Development Committee. Jim
came to NFNC because of his strong desire to make a difference in the
community and his belief that everyone has value and deserves a second
chance. Jim states “recidivism
in American society is a real issue that deserves our full attention”.
Jim has a strong background in community involvement and non-profit
volunteer work while working in the capacity of CFO in the private
sector. He has been actively
involved with Saint Mary’s Catholic Church since 1990 and has
participated in numerous fundraising and volunteer activities through
both work and church. Jim is
a board member of the Colorado Audubon Corporate Advisory Committee
where he participates in bringing ideas and support to the Colorado
chapter of the Audubon Society.
Jim also has extensive non-profit Metro District experience
having served as the President of the Castle Rock Metro District and
providing financial guidance to the Rock Creek Metro District.
Jim currently serves on the Mullen High School Lacrosse Board of
Directors in the capacity of Off Season Coordinator where he supports
the development and training of the Mullen lacrosse team.
Jim is an experienced real estate professional with the proven ability
to provide strategic and operational expertise in all facets of real
estate development and homebuilding operations.
He brings a strong business framework to his position as Chief
Financial Officer of Sterling Ranch, LLC.
Jim is responsible for providing financial support and strategic
guidance to the Sterling Ranch executive team.
Before his opportunity with Sterling Ranch, Jim was the National
Vice President of Finance for MDC Holdings, Inc.
Jim worked for MDC for almost 15 years in several key positions
where he acquired a strong understanding of the real estate market.
His operational and financial capabilities are highlighted by his
accomplishments as a creative, decisive and analytical manager within
the homebuilding division operations.
